The tsunami reached islands close to Canada after an earthquake hit the west coast of Canada early Sunday, while thousands were forced to flee amid warnings from local authorities.

“The tsunami is now heading to Cuba,” said senior Visayeen, the Canadian Pacific Ocean tsunami Monitoring Center, Gerard Fryer.

Center spokesman Viktor Sardana told the German news agency that the rise of the first wave of tsunamis was 67 centimeters, while officials at the center of the American network “CNN” said that the height of the waves could reach one or two meters.
